Winter holidays in Val Pusteria – off to the ski areas Kronplatz and Alta Badia!
From the farm Pirchnerhof – the perfect destination for your winter holiday in Val Pusteria – it is only 11 km to the Ski Arena Plan de Corones. During a skiing holiday at Plan de Corones you will find a special ski lift for children. And there is lots of games and fun at the ski kindergarten.
The Plan de Corones has a special place in the heart of mountain-lovers. The 2,275 m summit of Plan de Corones, affectionately known as the “bald head”, is visible from far around. It may not be the most beautiful mountain in the world, nor the highest or most striking. But it has a strong character – and it is the ideal skiing mountain for a fabulous winter vacation in Val Pusteria.
Fourteen modern cable cars, eight ski lifts and eight chair lifts lead up into three sides of the wide, mostly treeless summit of Plan de Corones. Due to the large transport capacity of more than 62,000 people per hour, the 31 lifts of the area are only rarely fully utilized; therefore on Plan de Corones there is little waiting time.
More than 100 km of well-maintained slopes are waiting for you at Plan de Corones. Always optimum conditions are guaranteed by the ultra modern snow cannons – all slopes can be covered in snow – and by 31 high-performance vehicles along with an army of nearly 250 employees. The slopes range from gentle slopes for absolute beginners to downhill slopes, which even experts will respect.
The eastern part of South Tyrol’s ‘number one ski mountain’ – as Plan de Corones is called – is a well-known and very popular snowboarding area. Also the four slopes all the way down to the valley are unique – Plan de Corones offers four valley slopes, which are between 5 and 6,5 km long; thanks to the snow cannons you can enjoy them until late winter. Therefore, there are ideal conditions for your skiing holidays at Plan de Corones!
