What would a family farm holiday be without many farm animals? Especially for our younger guests, the farm animals are an absolute highlight. Cows and calves are pleased to be petted, just like the rabbits and our faithful farm dog. Watching the chickens is also fun – but the real stars for the kids at our smart dwarf ponies. It is always a pleasure to see with how much care and tenderness the children treat the animals – so sometimes it can happen that the hike through the mountain landscape will have to wait.

The contact with the animals is not only a lot of fun; it also involves a variety of educationally important experiences and insights. A dwarf pony may be small, but the responsibility and workload of such an animal in comparison to its body size is remarkable! Also the cute bunnies need to be fed and have a clean hutch. After a family farm holiday it may well be that the ever-popular “pony” disappears from the Christmas wishing list of many children…
